The 6-Egg Riddle That Stumps Almost Everyone

(And Why Our Brains Keep Falling for It)

Riddles are supposed to be fun. A little mental stretch. A quick “aha!” moment before you move on with your day feeling clever.

But every once in a while, a riddle shows up that quietly humiliates even the most confident problem-solvers.

The 6-egg riddle is one of those.

It looks absurdly simple. It uses plain language. No math symbols. No trick words like “some” or “at least.” And yet, it routinely causes arguments, second-guessing, and full-on internet debates.

People answer quickly.
People answer confidently.

Except… something feels off when you slow down.

Answer #2: “Four eggs left”

This answer comes from a slightly more cautious group.

They reason:

But those could be the same eggs

So you only used 2 eggs total
